The key ingredients of this elegant dessert Halwa are milk, sugar and clarified butter. It can be a little fiddly but it's worth the effort. Garnish with nuts and serve.
Habshi Halwa Ingredients
- Milk 3 kg
- Sugar ½ kg
- Tartri ½ tbsp
- White flour 1 cup
- Grape vinegar 40 gm
- Brown food color ½ tsp
- Clarified butter 1 ½ cup
Habshi Halwa Cooking Directions

Boil milk into a pan.

Mix tartri and one cup water in a bowl.

Now mix this mixture in milk, move spoon.

After 5 minutes when milk spoils, add food color, sugar and grape vinegar and mix again.

Mix 1 cup water into white flour and adds it into milk batter and blends it.

Now put ½ cup of clarified butter into it.

Now put it on stove and mix it with spoon continuously.

When water dries from the pan, add remaining clarified butter into it.

When aroma arise from the pan, take it out from pan and spread it into a tray to cool down.

When Halwa become cool cut into pieces and garnish it with dry fruit.
