Peas and Cheese Pulao

Peas and cheese pulao is a very popular South Asian rice dish. It makes a perfect side dish on a family dinner and a absolute favorite main meal on a week day.
Peas and Cheese Pulao Ingredients
- Rice 4 cup (soaked for half an hour)
- Cottage cheese 1 kg (cubed)
- Onion 1 (finely sliced)
- All spice as required (whole)
- Peas 1 cup (boiled)
- Tomatoes 2 (finely sliced)
- Potatoes 2 (boiled)
- Green chilies 4 (finely sliced)
- Eggs 2 (boiled)
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Red chilies 1 tsp (crushed)
- Fresh coriander 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Peas and Cheese Pulao Cooking Directions

Heat ¼ cup oil in a pot and fry onion till golden.

Add all spice and green chilies, fry for 5 minutes.

Add ½ cup water and remaining spices, cook for 5 more minutes and remove.

Add tomatoes, peas and potatoes.

Heat oil in frying pan, fry cheese till golden and add to pot.

Now add 4 cups water to the pot and bring to a boil.

Strain soaked rice and add it to the boiling water.

Boil on medium-high heat while stirring occasionally till water dries and only light sauce like liquid is left in pot.

Immediately add eggs, green chillies and coriander.

Quickly cover the pot tightly and cook on very low heat for 15 minutes.
